dönem_Arc401 Project
tarih_09-2020/ 01-2023
The project stages the transformation of an apartment building in Göztepe, where we live more online than today, and which cannot meet the requirements of the day with the changing social relations and daily life, in the perspective of the foreseen future, without being demolished and rebuilt. In a future where we live much more online, data directly shapes the space as collecting and processing personal data is a part of daily life. In addition, we witness the autonomousization of the apartment in the structure where the decision-making role of the architect on the space establishes new relations with the algorithm that shapes the space over the collected data.
The fact that the apartment, which has become autonomous with the developing construction technologies* and the space shaped according to the data, allows for an endless space setup with the data specific to each apartment, and the life style that is shaped according to the average and standardized by the static setup of the apartment and indirectly described by the standard space, makes the existing apartment the subject of a political reading. With the space he describes as a 3+1 apartment, which is a common flat in Göztepe, he quietly states that an average (or) ideal family in the turkey/ istanbul/ goztepe region consists of four people with two children. At the same time, it also defines an ideal or standard 'family', a 1+1 type flat as a student or single house. In the project, which deals with the existing apartment typology as a political element; It transforms again in a future where boundaries and definitions are blurred, where everyone, not the majority, is equally visible.
The reflex of transforming the project without destroying the existing one can be interpreted as the result and trace of a new form of behavior that develops in all areas of life with the displacement of the decision-making role.
01-Reading the Current Status of the Building
The state of being constantly online corresponds to a period in which personal data is not protected and people share or buy their own data as a part of daily life, with web3.0, the spread of decentralized internet network and similar developments in Otonom Apartments.

I think the web 3.0 and eventually the metaverse has the potential to detach the profile culture, and maybe bring anonymity first of all," he explained.
"Moving from one web page to another basically involves clicking on that blue underlined text, those hyperlinks," said Lesmes .

Development of the sharing economy> Sharing of personal data> Autonomous space formation> 3d printing technology
The sharing and processing of personal data in daily life transforms people into communities that can organize the existing much better. How will the defined spaces change again for the society, which has the ability to live much more organized?
03-Definition of the new man in the Future Perspective
Changing human relations with the change of technology defines a new type of person with new needs, requirements, habits and practices, as in every period. We discussed the project on the possible reactions of people to being online in a future where we are much more online and how the space will be shaped as a result of the basic needs that will emerge.
how their possible reactions to going online and the basic needs that will arise, have been shaped before
How will it shape up in the future?
The changing relationship of being online by years (1990-2000-2010-pandemic period + 2020) with work, education, social life, eating.
Contrary to the fear of individuation and isolation that has grown in parallel with the development of technology for centuries, how will the space bring the space in which he lives back into existence for the new modern person who has become collectivized and lives together?

Autonomous Apartment and Co-Living Programs
Contrary to today, in the Otonom Apartment, where living together has become a major part of social life, not only through efficiency by sharing the space, but also in the use of space where joint production and consumption is made, has become a demanded element.
Yapının Boşluk ile İlişkisi
In the Otonom Apartment, where the algorithm shapes the space according to demand and need, in addition to creating spaces that are more customized with the demand of new people, as the demand for common areas increases and the density becomes demanded as social life becomes a necessity, a common empty space is formed in the building over time. While the ground floor is used with different programs, the empty volume in the vertical is followed by agricultural production on the façade.

01-Autonomous Apartment and Agricultural Production
The aim of agricultural production in Otonom Apartment is not only food production, but also the production of social life, which has become a necessity.
02-Autonom Apartment and Biogas + common WC
biogas plays an important role in establishing spatial relationships in the project.
03-Autonom Apartment and Shared kitchen, dining together
The food produced in the Otonom Apartment is processed together in the common kitchen on the ground floor. The processed food is prepared for dinner together, which has become a much more important ritual than today, and the table is set.
04-Otonom Apartment and Personal Space Setups
In the Otonom Apartment, the WC can be used privately if requested with the production of personal space, but with the changing daily life habits, privacy and demanded density, there is a common WC in the middle of the ground floor, which is not hidden in the space and always has long rows in front of it as desired.
